Hayley Orrantia is an American performer, actress and songwriter. The most famous of her roles is Erica Goldberg who stars in The Goldbergs, the comedy television show. She believes that she is an artist first and foremost. According to her, is the first thing she enjoys. She began playing with it when she was nine years old. When she was 12, music became serious enough for her to pursue a career in music. After experimenting with writing songs, she recorded the album with music covers when she was fourteen. The rest is history. Orrantia is of Hispanic roots, however she was born in USA. While she grew up with solely English and was never in Mexico she is very satisfied with her Hispanic roots. To preserve the heritage, she is learning Spanish. Additionally, she creates songs that incorporate the language. "Hasta Verte," a track that she wrote in Spanish is one such attempt. Orrantia participated in The X Factor season 1's auditions during the summer 2011. Orrantia was chosen as a result of the submission of a YouTube video and was awarded four "yes" votes from the judge at the time of live auditions in Seattle, Washington. At first, she auditioned as a soloist, she as well as three female singers were put together for the remaining auditions during "Hollywood Week". They were eliminated in the fifth week in the live shows.
